God is a Transformer

What Jake learned his first week at Catholic school:

"God is a Transformer."

"God can do ANYTHING."

"Before school we say the Jesus prayer."

And Dada has learned quickly to leave the explanations to the teachers.

Dada: "You know Jake, when we say 'Now I lay me' at night we're talking to God."

Jake: "Really?"

Dada: "Yeah, we're asking him to keep us safe at night."

Jake: "But he didn't keep me safe that time I fell out of my bed and hurt my head..."

Dada: "Uhhh...maybe you should ask your teachers about that."

Mama and Jake went out to dinner with Gran. Coco fell asleep. It was clearly time to make a Transformers movie.

Ready or not, here he comes!

Colette at the beach

Coco was an awesome traveler.  Thanks to her new found ability to suck her thumb on demand, she has been able to self sooth. This made for a good car ride!  We are now in the process of trying to figure out what to do with her at night.  She gets very mad if we try to swaddle her because she can't suck her thumb... but she doesn't sleep as well if she is not swaddled.  It is quite a problem!

Bikes

The boys did a lot of bike riding this trip.  We rented a tandem bike.  Gray would let the boys take turns riding on the back as he rode around the streets of East Beach.  We also took the training wheels off Jake's bike.  Still working on that.  It is very hard to teach a very cautious child to ride a bike!  And last but definitely not least, Charlie got his own two wheeler (with pedals).  He took a special trip to Walmart with daddy to pick it out.  We were certain he would pick a pink bike (his favorite color) that could then be passed down to Colette.  Charlie never ceases to surprise us, however, and went for Spiderman.

St. Simons Lighthouse

We climbed all 129 steps of the SSI Lighthouse.  Provides a great view of the new Neptune Park pool.  Also a shot of some folks we saw on the beach....
